Here is an advert for a local bar somewhere. It is only quite short but they have used some subtle, and some not so subtle subliminal suggestions throughout. See if you can spot them (answers below):

Did you spot them? The ones we found are:

  • The hotdog penis suggestion.
  • A sexual sigh in the toilets?
  • The waitress bending over to serve drinks at a suggestive angle to the pool cue behind her.
  • The girl appearing from under the counter at the end

If you’ve seen anything we haven’t then please leave a comment below!

Here is a collection of various subliminal messages – mainly from within corporate logos and advertising. It contains sexual subliminal suggestions and other hidden messages from Pepsi, Coca Cola, Starbucks, VW, CNN, and many more:

For example we can spot a subliminal message from the Coca Cola ice cube of a sexual nature (curvy woman), we can see the demon in a political debate, words “laid by the best” in an old newspaper advert for D.J. Flooring showing a beautiful woman, then how the Wolksvagen logo resembles the Nazi cross, and it doesn’t end there.

Other messages brands like Palmolive use are “who can resist” written under a naked woman, and the word SEX spelled from two Pepsi cans.

I’ll leave the rest for you to find out on your own by watching the video below now:

Do tell us what you think, like the page and then view our entire collection of subliminal advertising videos.

If you have been surfing for videos online lately you have probably been on youtube. Over the last few years there have been more and more people posting Youtube subliminal messages.

This is the act where people review a movie, or a poster and point out the subliminal suggestions which have been used. if you search for subliminal messages on youtube then you are inundated with 1000s of search results with videos of this kind. Everything from subliminal songs which have had their music reversed to reveal subliminal messages, to subliminal movies, , visual subliminal messages, adverts, even political speeches and news bulletins!

Subliminal messages are everywhere, and people around the world are revealing them with the global and viral power of youtube. Here is one example of George Bush being busted for using subliminal messages on election day:

It may seem like a coincidence, but that is exactly why subliminal messages are so powerful, they are very slight suggestions which go into your mind without your critical / logical thinking function interfering – whereas an aggressive or obvious suggestion may get dismissed, or you may consciously argue against it. These gentle subliminal messages make it into your mind without any resistance and slowly influence your behavior.

The use of subliminal messages in politics is not rare, politicians will do anything they can to gain a slight advantage, and subliminal messages really can do this. This is proven by their continual use by giant corporations such as McDonalds, Coca Cola, Pepsi, and Palmolive just to mention a few.

Here is another video showing McDonalds getting busted for using subliminal advertising on the food network. During the Iron Chef program a flash of the McDonalds logo is seen for a split of a second:

This is a classic example of a youtube subliminal getting major international attention. You can see that the video was filmed by a regular guy in his house, but by posting to youtube he got attention from news networks and the organizations themselves.

McDonalds of course denied the use of subliminals and pointed the blame to the food network, who also denied everything, saying it was a production error and not an intentional subliminal message… yeah right!

Now that the Internet is in pretty much every household we can make people aware of the subliminal messages which are being used illegally such as the McDonalds example – it is actually illegal in the US, the UK, and Australia to show these flashed subliminal messages on TV. Here is another example from youtube of the Aria Music Awards who were penalized for using subliminal messages on behalf of their sponsors:

We hope you have enjoyed this post on the youtube subliminal craze – Subliminal messages can be a great tool to influence your subconscious mind, however no one wants to be manipulated through subliminal adverts, so be prepared, and help you friends prepare by sharing this on your social networks.

This is a video made by “Media Watch” who launched an investigation into the 2007 Aria Music Video Awards in Australia. It shows various subliminal messages where sponsors logos were flashed up during the different category announcements.

Subliminal messaging techniques such as these are illegal – whether used within advertisements themselves or used to advertise a product within an actual program. Here is the video, but also see below for an update.

October 2008 Update:

[broadcaster] TEN breached code by broadcasting material below or near the threshold of normal awareness during 2007 ARIA Awards

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has found that the Ten Network breached the Commercial Television Industry Code of Practice 2004  during the broadcast of the 2007 ARIA  Awards on 28 October 2007 by transmitting images below or near the threshold of normal awareness.

ACMA reviewed the show frame by frame. It found that the rapid-cut graphics used in the program was a technique that attempted to convey information to viewers below or near the threshold human awareness, which is a breach of clause 1.8.4 of the code – The code gives clear rules regarding the use or involvement of any technique which attempts to convey information to viewers.

Here are the penalties impsed on Network 10 for this breach, TEN network must:

  • Distribute the investigation report to all relevant production staff  to ensure that future productions of ARIA Awards are consistent with ACMAguidelines
  • Not use the same rapid cut use of sponsor logos for the upcoming 2008 ARIA Music Awards
  • Ensure future compliance (any future breach will lead to significantly heightened compliance testing. )
  • Highlight the code clause in their external production agreements.

Of course, TEN network is not the only one to use subliminal messages in their programming, but both CNN, FOX and some others are likely too big to be fined for those infractions aimed at only the weaker stations it seems.
